search engine that had Bill Clinton speak at its launch party and was giving away cars left and right as recent as a year ago, has closed its doors. Accoona was a very promising startup company which was selected among the 50 Coolest Websites of year 2006 by Time Magazine. Accoona signed a million dollar deal with FAST Search from Norway to help enhance their web site rankings. Also the company provided the search technology to the Chinese portals Sina.com and Sohu. They also formed a 20-year exclusive partnership with China Daily.
